Our number one asked question: What does the average wedding cost? Because all weddings and events are so individualized it is difficult to give averages per event. There are averages on individual items that you may expect to find as an industry standard. Below is a work sheet to help you estimate your budget (Printable in PDF Format). What do many professionals recommend in the way of event planning/decorating? Here are some simple recommendations that might help maximize your dollar and help you complete the look you have always dreamed off. 1) Inquire about rental items. Stunning designs can be made very affordable by renting containers and/or props special to your event.
2) Decorate with candlelight, especially crystal. This option can offer both romantic and business themes alike. The cost of rental is low, but the look is often large. 3) Don't go rushing out to purchase things. Wait to meet with a decorator to see what your options are. Often you can have things done professionally within a few hundred dollars of doing it yourself. You will save yourself time and money in the long run, while creating the look you've always dreamt of.
4) Both permanent botanicals (silk) and fresh are always options. Our recommendation is to stick with fresh flowers. Often the various textures, aromas, and color hues are what your guest will enjoy the most. It is true that you can purchase some permanents less expensive than fresh flowers, however, for top notch quality permanents you will often pay the same amount if not more. Most fresh product is available year round due to the ease of transportation from border countries.
5) Inquire with your decorator about the use of an overlay linen on your tables. This inexpensive upgrade can transform your reception room in a matter of seconds. This simple idea will bring the room together helping transition all of your color palettes resulting in a more complete venue.
