A: There still tends to be a very large variety of flowers used in wedding work & special Events. The ones that seem to be used the most are Roses, Tulips, Calla Lily's, Hydrangeas, Peony's, Ranunculus, Stephanotis, and a variety of Lilies and other accent flowers. With the ever increasing import of flowers into the United States, from Europe, Central & South America, most (not all) flowers are available year round. However, cost is still often dependent on seasonality of each individual flower.

Q: How much does the average wedding cost for flowers?

A: This is a very difficult question to answer due to the variance in cost on flowers and also the ever changing needs from one bride to the next. There are several components that will go into the price of any given design. The quantity and varieties of flowers being used, the seasonality in which the arrangement will be made, the type of container being used to achieve the required design, and the expertise or level of expertise needed to create the arrangement being designed. As a general rule you can expect to pay the following amounts for some items (keep in mind prices vary from season to season and from one region to another). Also keep in mind that these are averages, this does not mean an item can not be done for less or for more.

Q: How soon should I meet with Griffin's Floral & Event Design?

A: As a general rule any where from three to twelve months in advance. The larger the venue the further out we recommend meeting with a member of our staff. We have taken events as far out as 16 months depending on the venue being serviced. The sooner you reserve your venue the more of a guarantee your event date will be available.

Q: How do I reserve my event with Griffin's Floral & Event Design?

A: Set up a complimentary consultation with us. At your initial meeting we will go over all aspects of your event, providing you with lots of different options and floral artistry ideas. We will discuss your floral budget and paint a picture or your event along with prices. Your written price quote will be provided  in writing once a $275.00 non-refundable security deposit has beenmade. This security deposit will be applied to your total balance due, however is non- refundable.

Q: Should I pay a consultation fee?

A: It is becoming more & more common to pay a consultation fee. A florist's time is valuable, and they should be compensated for the ideas they give to you and for the time you request from them. Griffin's Floral & Event Design will not charge you for your initial consultation, it will provided free of charge.  Any meeting after this date will require a booking the date fee.

Q: Should I sign a contract, and if so what should be on it?

A: Signing of a contract is very common. On the contract you should be looking for names, addresses, phone numbers, dates, & times of vendors, along with ceremony & reception locations. An itemized list of all flowers being purchased, to include, bouquets, corsages, bouts, table decor, ceremony decor, and cake decor, along with EXACT STEM COUNTS. How many of each item and the cost of each item. Also important to verify are the delivery fees, set up fees, overtime fees, and sales tax. All contracts should have some type of cancellation policy in writing. Rented items should be included or on a amended contract.

Q: What do I need to bring to my consultation?

A: The more you bring the better we can advice you on all of your questions. We would like for you to have any photos of gowns, locations, and accessories with which you wish your flowers to coordinate. Fabric samples are also very helpful. Names, addresses, & phone numbers of others vendors you have contracted with; to include the ceremony location & the reception location.  Tear Sheets with picutures of ideas  you have seen on-line, in books, and in magazines are extremly helpful.  We simply request that you complete a little homework prior to our meeting.

Q: What areas will Griffin's Floral & Event Design service?

A: We have built our business in the hearts of Central Ohio. We have a retail studio in Pataskala, Ohio and an Office Studio in Westerville Ohio.  Many of our clients come from areas such as Dublin, Gahanna, Upper Arlington, Newark, Grove City, Canal Winchester, New Albany, and many other Central Ohio cities.
